Weight Loss Medications

After a thorough evaluation of your medical history, the doctor might prescribe a medication to help with appetite. We have a variety of medications that we may use and this is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Appetite Suppressants

Appetite suppressants are safe when taken under careful supervision and in conjunction with a structured weight loss program. Phentermine, diethylpropion, and phendimetrazine are all FDA-approved medications used to help reduce appetite. They also increase your basal metabolic rate as well as the rate at which fat is broken down in the body.

Topiramate can also be used to mitigate appetite. For many, it is highly effective.

After careful evaluation and an EKG, the doctor will determine which medication(s) you will be prescribed.
